Beira no Coração is a movement, created by the First Lady of Cabo Verde, Mrs Ligia Fonseca, which aims at raising funds for Post-Disaster Reconstruction in order to help people affected by the devastating Cyclone Idai. Faced with this tragic situation, Mrs Fonseca calls upon the civil society and the Cabo Verdean Diaspora to aid the people of Mozambique and the small community of Caboverdeans living in Beira and surroundings.
We want to participate with funds raised for the reconstruction of houses, community centers and schools. We want to bring school supplies, books, computers, medicine, toys and everything else so that children can resume classes, be protected from illness and abandonment.
We have already begun to work and we will continue to do so with full determination by the end of the year, time at which we will present all the results regarding the funds received and their implementation in projects in Mozambique.
